Andre's Cousin Samuel Potatohead enjoyed a wild 15 minutes of fame when he was chosen to appear in Everclear's video for AM Radio. Unfortunately, Samuel took the role to heart. He thought that he had really made the big time, partying with rock stars and all. It was all short-lived and Samuel ended up as part of a delicious picnic potato salad.
Look for Samuel Potatohead!

When paradise is no longer fit for you to live in...
This video has almost nothing to do with Potatoheads except that the name of the Bali Resort where it is shot is Potato Head Beach Club. The domain names www.PotatoHeadBeachClub.com and www.ClubPotatoHead.com are available, but they went for www.ptthead.com instead. Seems like picking up a better domain name would be a pretty good move for about $10.
Now that i'm about as far geographically, financially, and ideologically from a life in the tropics as i could get--I'm missing it like crazy. Grass is always greener...don't take things for granted...and all that jazz.
Imagine the tropical breeze while you check out Potato Head Beach Club. The only place in the Philippines that came close to being this 'hip' was Boracay, which wasn't too impressive (relative to other beach destinations). That is one of the things that the Philippines has going for it, they've managed to bungle tourism, so this scene is pretty easy to avoid.

Is there no end to the humiliation? Now they have videos of us getting dressed! This guy even stuck our ears in our armpits. No respect for potatoes, I'll tell you.
Yes, we get dressed one arm at a time, just like everyone else. This Potato Song is one of my favorite of the many potato-based tunes! They just don't write lyrics like this anymore.
we don't care what the look like, we'll eat them, any way they can fit on our plate. any way we can conjure to eat them, we're delighted and think they're just great!

For some reason, Potato Heads are huge fans of stop-motion animation. This is one of Andre's current favorite short movies.

Andre's uncle Maurice was a minor TV star in the late 70s and early 80s. Andre dug up this commercial that he acted in towards the end of his career. He considered appearing on 'Hasbro's Has-Beens' a nickelodeon reality TV show scheduled for 2011, but decided that another taste of the high life might do him in. He currently lives in a Tuff Shed somewhere outside of Nederland, Colorado.

Andre has been increasingly concerned by the amount of violence towards Potatoheads that is openly flaunted on the internet. He claims that many in the potatohead community live in constant fear of being captured and abused by humans in the name of humor. As we approach the holiday season, please take a moment to consider the plight of the potatoheads in your neighborhood.

Andre Potatohead is able to trace his roots back to the 1960s. We did some research this week, and found out that his ancestors were quite ugly looking. In just 40 years, the Potatoheads have become much more attractive--survival of the fittest and all, i guess.
